Tearabyte was formed in 1998 in Los Angeles. The CD "Doom Generation" was released shortly after.  In 2000 the band relocated to Dallas, TX. 2002 saw the release of  their 2nd cd entitled "Embrace Oblivion". Read the reviews, they talk for themselves. "Tearabyte is massive", "Embrace Oblivion is an abyssal slab of sonic gloom charged with pure intensity." says Bill Vogel III from Strange Aeons. "They've captured the intensity and anger that all those nu-metal bands seem to have forgotten.,” says Matt Adkins from the Harder beat. "It's metal the way it was supposed to be. Hard, thrash, in-your-face, and sung by leader Al Mead." from the Westwood One Fax. " a guitar shredding band that's brand of music is loud, fast, & very tuned down!." says The Rock N Roll Experience. 2004 will see the release of the 3rd Tearabyte CD, entitled "Gloom Factory".

Consisting of bassist/vocalist Al Mead (who was once a member of the infamous GG Allin & The Scumfucks), guitarist Kevin Mead, and drummer Jeff Owens, Tearabyte bring their blistering version of thrash metal with elements that reminisce of such classic acts as Slayer, Exodus, Vio-lence, Motorhead, etc. Previously, the band has shared the stage with the legendary Sacred Reich, Skinlab, and goremeisters Exhumed, thus displaying the benefits of their multifaceted style.
